November 2010: Kepler Engineering is approved as an R&D provider by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research for the years 2010 and 2011.

Crédit Impôt Recherche (CIR) is a tax system to support R&D companies.

A company that outsources R&D from another company whose status is private, can benefit from the CIR with the condition to be approved by the M.H.E.R. (Ministry of Higher Education and Research).

Method of calculation

From 2008, the CIR is sitting only on the volume of R & D reported by companies:

  • 30% of R & D for a first tranche of up to 100 million €
  • 5% of R & D beyond the threshold of 100 million €

Companies entering for the first time in the device, receive a 50% rate the first year and by 40% the second year.

Consideration of costs

Search outsourced: the limit is 12 million €

Young doctors: considered for double the amount during the first 24 months.

Patent expenses: are eligible to a maximum of 60 thousand € per year

Treatment of refundable advances

Repayable advances are deducted from the base of the plate, as well as subsidies. They will be added to the database for calculating the tax credit for each year during which they will be reimbursed to the agency that has paid.

Securing the CIR

The response time of the administration to a request is reduced from 6 months to 3 months. Companies have the option of requesting a check on the CIR.
